First, I picked a template for my website on Wix. After that I decided to dive in and start on the main body of my website. I decided to add a tour dates column as this is something most teenagers will be very interested in and it adds something unconventional to my magazine as I haven't seen any websites which feature something like this. I then planned what I would put alongside my tour dates, in whichI chose Latest News which is commonly shown on websites and Recommended Records, another popular header.
This is a development screen grab showing what the tour dates column looks like finished and the half completed Latest News column.
After first designing my Latest News column I decided to add some social media buttons as this is something all teenagers can relate to and makes the website look more realistic.
I then went on to add a header, navigation bar, my logo and an image slider. The image slider stays on all pages along with the navigation bar which adds for easy navigation and adds an element of structuralism to the page. I then added the banner as this is a common convention found on almost all websites. I chose to centre my logo and place it at the top of the page to create a flow for my website.
After adding the first image I decided colour wasn't appropriate for the image reel and so I decided to edit the images again into black and white. I then added a login/sign up button to add professionalism to the page and make it look more realistic.
